My Product Design Journey
From starting a hobby, to discovering my passion for changing the world, here is my journey through product design.
March 2021
At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic I was suddenly faced with an abundance of free time, but an overwhelming sense of uncertainty.

How could we have avoided the pandemic? What can we do now to help ourselves and others?

I became health conscious not only for my own physical health but for my family, friends, and individuals all around the world.
April 2021
Mindlessly scrolling through social media, I stumbled upon an infographic explaining different statistics on the pandemic. The way it displayed complex information into digestible visual bites intrigued me.

Curious, I began delving deeper, discovering a plethora of digital content. My fascination grew, and I realized that these designers were doing more than just creating pretty visuals — they were shaping narratives, building understanding, and, in many ways, alleviating panic with clarity.

I wanted to be a part of this: I wanted to use design as a tool for change.
June 2021
I started doing graphic design for local health start-ups including information on where to receive help and health tips during quarantine.

Additionally, I began learning video editing and animation for advertisements.

This was the beginning of my focus of utilizing design as a tool for change within healthcare.
Tools: Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects
October 2022
I wanted to leverage my design skills on a deeper and more significant level.

I began working on SleepStreak, an app that helps college students improve their sleep and overall wellness, as a UI/UX designer.

This was my first opportunity to work hands-on and implement my design knowledge to address current real-world problems.
Tools: Figma, Canva
Working on SleepStreak gave me an invaluable insight about health: physical health and mental health are closely intertwined, and one's mental well-being can significantly impact their physical well-being.

From this point, I combined and shifted my focus to improving physical AND mental health.
March 2023
I expanded into web design and development, creating websites for businesses and people.
In my free time, I'm freelance web designer!
June-August 2023
During this three month period, I completed sprints that addressed mental and physical health problems.

These sprints entailed going through the entire design process and creating a final high-fidelity prototype on Figma.

Each sprint lasted 1 week, which drastically improved my working efficiency, focus, and overall execution of the design process.
Skills: User Research, Market Research, User Flows, Usability Testing, High & Low Fidelity Prototyping, Wireframing, Storyboarding, Market Mapping
Today
Now, I'm continuing to design and build user interfaces and experiences that aim to improve the mental and physical health of individuals worldwide.
